YaY for Toxic Waste and Les Crevettes

The event I had anxiously been waiting for is already over for more than a week ... 
but it was awesome ...
My fav band Toxic Waste had one of their tour-gigs in a town close to my home ... and to top the evening, Les Crevettes, another fav band of mine agreed to be supporting act ...
how cool is that ;-)))
I wish the evening could have lasted much longer ... but I must admit that, after it was time to say bye-bye the next day, I felt kinda dead  ... 
Guess at my age I need more than 2 hours of sleep ... *grins*
But I'm pretty sure that I will see both bands again ... sooner or later ... and I'm already looking forward to it !!!

Why ... damn it, WHY ... do I BLOG ?!?

1. How long have you been blogging? Since Oktober 2008
    
2. Why did you start blogging? In the beginning I wanted to show the creations I did for my store 'LoonAtic Wear' .... but as I didn't want it to be a pure 'Shop-Blog', I added pics and thoughts from/about my daily SL-Life and my mood in general ...
    
3. How many times a week do you post an entry? It depends ... there have been times when I did several posts a week ... at the moment I hardly do one post  ... tho I want to post more again, if my RL releases me now and then ;-)
    
4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? There are maybe 10 blogs I really read ... and maybe 20 other blogs that I look at least at the pics ;-) ... I use Google Reader and I'm already afraid of the time when it closes down in July ... I haven't found a satisfying replacement yet ...
    
5. Do you comment on other people’s blogs? I often comment in my head, but then I'm sometimes too shy to really write the comment. So I usually comment only on blogs of friends.
    
6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? I use statcounter, but as I don't look at it as often as I used to (it's too depressing to see several days with a ZERO in a row, lol).
    
7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? Well ... to be honest ... I once wrote a post when I was very sad and hurt by something that happened in my SL-Life ... but after a few hours  I edited the post to be less personal ... cause it's no use in hurting someone, just because you've been hurt yourself.
    
8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? I don't try to be someone else than I am (apart from the fact that Mayala-me is a pixel character) ... and as I write about my RL sometimes, a reader can get a slight idea of who I am.   
   
   
    
9. Do you blog under your real name? Nope, I blog as Mayala/LoonAtic/Loony ... tho I think I might have mentioned my real first name now and then (at least in some video-clips) ... *grins* 
   
   
    
10. Are there topics that you would never blog about? I usually don't blog about other people (SL/RL) without their permission. I don't blog heavy/too serious stuff ... and I don't blog about fashion ;-p
     
11. What is the theme/topic of your blog? ... well ... I guess I do not really have a theme, it's more a bit of a mess ... I like to post pics I do for challenges like the Colour Challenge, Single Frame Stories, these memes or stuff I see in SL (tho somehow my time gets less there) ... I love to post my silly machinimas (btw. watch out ... another mad machinima coming soon with a mad hellish race ... *grins* ... ) pictures I do with my RL camera and of course I love to post clips from the concerts I've been too in RL like this clip from last weekend, when my absolute favs, the french PunkRock-Band TOXIC WASTE came over for a visit during their tour (I just LOVE them)   
     
12. Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? I actually have 2 more blogs, but both totally neglected ... my pure shop-blog LoonAtic Wear Pure  (but my shop is on hiatus ... and so is that blog) and my RL Photo Blog LoonYpix (I have tons of pics for it, but I'm too lazy to upload them)
     
13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? I use the blog as a kind of scrap-book ... and love to look at old blog-entries now and then ;-)
     
14. So, why do you continue to blog? It's fun ... and I like to share pics and clips and nonsense with people I don't even know (well and of course with friends too ;-p ... )

I'm always late ... and you know what ...
Today I don't care, cause it looks as if the end of the world knew about that and decided to wait for me, cause I ain't ready yet and therefore I'm late as usual ...
But it's not only me, who's late ... the night is late too ... it's late night ...

30 Days of Gratitude - 23

o.o .... I'm bad at challenges this year ... 

I got nothing for Luna's colour challenge today, although Jonquil is quite a nice yellow ...

and I'm way behind in the 30 Days of Gratitude ... tho that doesn't mean I haven't been grateful at all ... 

I actually have been gratefull enough to fill weeks and I'll tell you about some of it sooner or later  ;-)

But today I'm YAY once more for one of those awesome DJs at Sanctuary Rock ...

You prolly know that I love my DJs ...my reg ones and those who fill in when needed ...

they are one of the main reasons I get up quite early every weekend ...

52 Colours - #50 & 51 - Mulberry & Cream

A few days ago I got an invitation to watch an exclusive extraterrestrial fashion show ... 
So I put on a nice simple CREAM costume and got ready for a short trip to the stars ...
But when I had just stepped outside, I discovered a run in my new cream stockings ...
... DARN ...

but too late ... the show event of the year wouldn't wait for me ... 
so I grabbed the next tp ... ready for MULBERRY .....
Be invited to come with me and be amazed ... ;-))



I must admit ... when I saw Rudh's amazing dress, I wanted hide behind some planet far away ... what a gorgeous choice ... 
and as usual I have to thank her for all the patience with me ... it was fun tho to make her run up and down the catwalk ... ;-P

btw ... Rudh had suggested Marilyn Manson's 'Sweet Dreams' ... but when I accidently stumbled over Probot's 'Sweet Dreams' ... I just couldn't resist Dave Grohl and King Diamond ;-)
and I found out that I actually love to stand on a stage, in SL as well as in RL ... lol

Next week will be the last colour of Luna's 52 colours (wow ... how time passed by) ... ORANGE

But I'm lucky ... I still have 2 colours to catch up, both lil movies ... 
that should keep me busy till the challenge continues or till I find a new one ... lol

I heard Sundevildaddy sing ... UC enjoying everyone (damn, I usually miss recording him, cause it's early Sunday morning for me and the place is always packed, which means danger of crashing when running Fraps) ... Imdy performed the best song of the world ...
and today ... yay ... Erika did it again ;-))))
my Saturday morning (the friday midnight) was quite disastrous ... alarm rang too early, I had no DJ cause my new reg DJ Missy had an RL emergency, my recently pulled out tooth sent greetings from nirvana, mood was kinda at the bottom and crowd gone ... lol
Sunday morning was such a good contrast there ... lots of nice folks at the club, UC singing better than ever ;-), ltns Dylon and Bagor had stopped by, I crashed only once, I had Fraps ready (ty Imdy) ... and Erika did sing, well, tried inspite of all the giggling ... I so love that ...

52 Colours - # 40 & 41 - Apricot & Jazzberry

WOW ... I hadn't posted for about 2 weeks .. and now 2 posts (and 4 colours) in 1 day ;-))

and what's even better ... it's a tenner ... one of the 'every 10th' with Rudh ... 

a challenge within the challenge, cause Rudh threw down the proverbial gauntlet for me

and it only took me more than 4 weeks to finish it ... hehe

made me almost die from laughing several times ... you are warned hereby ...

So .. without further ado welcome Mr. Mayo and the Love of his Life

I'm pretty sure there isn't just Apricot in Rudh's breathtaking outfits (yep ... both of them *grins*), but in Mr. Mayo's vest too ... and the Jazzberry can be found in his cassis pop ... a drink I had found during my vacation visiting the Dutch and which I imported  right into SL. It's actually created from the can I brought with me ... it looks so cool (but the pop tastes ... well ... erm ... let's say, I don't need to drink it again ... hehe)

hm ... 2 more colours ... not bad, huh, ... it leaves me only 6 to catch up atm ... including #28 Pink ... which is causing me some unexpected problems ... but I cannot have Miss Laura18 Streeter look like THIS just because my bluebox thinks PINK is BLUE ....

But I'll get it sorted out before xmas ... PROMISED !!!

... after my holiday break I'm back to hosting at Sanct ... and besides that almost everything there kinda changed while I was away ... I was glad to find that Imdy was my DJ for the Friday Midnight ... something that prolly will become rather rare in the future ....
I missed the tunes and the ppl during the last 2 weeks, but the connection on the campsite was rather poor ... lol
The more happy I was when Imdy announced the most beautiful song ever written by anyone ...

erm ... I'm a few numbers behind the rest of you folks ... I know
so I do a cheating quick catching up post ...
with 2 colours still missing ... #28 - PINK and #30 - Ruby get an extra post each, cause friends are involved and I don't want to hide them under a heap of other colours ...
well ... actually those posts will require a lot of work to be done yet anyway ... shame on me !!
So today it will be ...

and it's not said that it has to be all fashion, right ?
so I present you my very NEON CARROT light ... actually I like it so much ... I'd love to have it in RL ... lol
my DENIM jeans from Sanctuary Rock ... it was part of an outfit that staff got as a present at the club ... and I still love wearing it now and then ... altho my days at the club might be counted ...
my skin turned wooden (MAHOGANY at least) cause that's how I feel lately when I'm in SL ...
and then JADE in my eyes and the JADE pic from my 365 challenge pics (day 279), which I had made for my jaded friend ... so this beautiful colour connects me to a sad and helpless feeling, when I just don't know how to change his mind ... I so wish I could ...

and sometimes I'm jaded too ... like on that weekend when I couldn't go to Lille to see Toxic Waste ...
but so what ... I can simply hit anyone with another of my fav songs from their gig in Germany ... lol

Darn ... haven't blogged for a while now ... missed some colours for the Challenge already and I will be late for the #30 Ruby with Rudh ... but I will catch up eventually ... especially as I had some very cool help from very nice persons for my preperations for #28 Pink ... so stay tuned ;-)

But for now RL has claimed to be the FIRST LIFE ...
and besides a lot of extra hours at work ... the two last weekends were just AWESOME ...
on May 21 I had my first gig with the band that I'm in since March ... and it was a whole lot of fun ... and the next gig will be on wednesday ... ;-))))))))))
I might do a post about that in a bit too

But today I just wanna post about my last weekend ...
the day when I finally met my fav french punk rock band
TOXIC WASTE ;-))))))))
I wrote about them in Febury 2009 when I longed to see them live.
And now they came to Germany ... played in Aachen in a super cool club called Hauptquartier.
(If you ever visit Aachen ... check out the Hauptquartier ... cool music ... and very very nice owner/staff ... TY Dieter for the great evening)

Funny enough I had a Punk event that morning at Sanctuary Rock ... and of course I wore my Toxic Waste shirt ;-)





















And in the evening I got me 2 REAL Toxic Waste shirts ...
Toxic Waste played a really cool set ... just a bit too short ...
I could have listened to them all night long, but Loran said it's too 'physical' ... *grins*

and the best is ... they played one of my fav songs for ME !!! ... Bricolage Circus

I could have kissed them ;-)


So ... after that cool concert and quite some beer and lots of laughing and trying to explain stuff in english 'very slowly' ... *sniggers* ... I sure want to see them again ... hopefully in October ...
(and I so wish I could see them on June 10 in Lille together with Tyson Boogie and Bam!! ...
why is it so expensive to travel those 450km !!??!!)

Days like that make me forget any other life ... lol

Up and Down and Up and ...

yeah ... I know ... that's life ...
I'm just trying to leave a totally wasted weekend behind ...
my freshly planted flowers on the terrace had died due to night frost ;-( ...
I got sick during my Saturday morning shift ... spent most of the weekend in bed feeling terrible ...
hehe .. I even went to Hell's grand store opening (make sure to check out that shop Hell & Co on Wheels ... a paradise for bikers and lovers of awesome vehicles) while I was in bed ...
tho it took me ages to rez everything as I was on a wireless netbook ...
I even missed the crimescene ... must have been baco, as he wasn't there (said Rudh) ... ;-)

today was quite a down when I closed the doors of my shop LoonAtic Wear at Sanctuary Rock ...
it's not as if I sold much ... it's because I like the club and I'm always proud to have a shop there ... but I'll be back in a while, I'm pretty sure ...
I still have my hostie tag to wear there every weekend ... ;-)))

And I still have my mainstore tho ...
and today I added something new there ... a try ...
I'm part of the Fab 50 Weekends now !!!
So every weekend from Friday 7am - Sunday 11pm I will set up a discounted item from my store down to 50L$ !! ... starting next Friday ... check it out ;-)

Hehe ... there was a funny Italian guy running into my pic ...
I must admit I looked a bit like a 'Bordsteinschwalbe' offering myself for 50L$ ... didn't I ... ;-)
kk ... not the right outfit for that, but my fav stoner shirt ...

but I have enough ups to get me back into good mood ...
My first 2 gigs with my new band within a month ...
I will do a 5km run in June (and hope to survive ... lol) ...
I prolly will see my fav french punkrock band Toxic Waste at the end of May ;-)



and there is the 52-colours-challenge I love to do and follow every week ;-))
talking of the 52WOCC ... I might need your help for the next week (and at other times too) ...
it's PINK this time ... really TOUGH colour for me ...

So Luna wants to keep us in good health with lots of vitamins again ...
by challenging us this week with TANGERINE ...
Now ... as much as I like to eat tangerines (I call them Mandarinen) ...
it's so not my colour ...
I don't own any Tangerine coloured clothes in RL ...
and only my Sanctuary Rock shirt in SL ...
......
till now ... lol

The first thing that came to my mind was the old (founded in 1967) german Electro / Experimental Band 'Tangerine Dream' (and they still exist !!!)
So I listened to their songs on youtube, while designing my outfit ...
and I spent a whole evening dancing in my photosphere to their song 'Stratosfear' ...
surrounded by my Tangerine Galaxy ;-)



usually not my kind of music ... but it can be so relaxing sometimes ... and butt-moving as well
