Peaceful Photohunt

After I had missed last Monday's Photohunt, it was good to be back hunting today ...
We were sent to a little 'peaceful' sim, FaeryDreams, and supposed to come back with a 'peaceful' shot.

The atmosphere was very peaceful there, and as I got a new dsl-modem at home, which does an awesome peaceful job, I could relax and peacefully go thru a lot of windlight settings and DOFs and such, while even my son was peacefully playing LOL via the same modem ...
YaY ... Mondays will be a lot more peaceful from now on ;-)
Somehow I could peacefully easy decide which of the 26 pics to upload ... 

and YaY again ... I made the 3rd place, prolly more by chance tho, as it was a close field of beautiful pics again ...
Paco and yeuxbleux shared 2nd price ... and the winner was Reema ;-)

Next Monday is high time of carneval in some countries, I'd really like to go to a carneval sim, Venice or something ... a masquerade ... a ball ... whatever ... 
but I'll just get surprised by landmark and theme, as usual ...

Ravages of Time

so I've been photohunting again today ... of course  ... it's Monday ...

We'd been sent to a pretty lost island ;-) ... 
spank me, I don't remember the name, but you can find it here (Beguile or something like that)
and the theme was Ravages of Time ...
As you can see, everyone submitted beautiful snapshots and Jewel(3), Cynthia(2) and Jana(1) as well deserved winners.

As usual I couldn't decide which pic to upload of the 46 snapshots I had taken ... lol
Especially as some pics that I like as they came out, didn't quite match the theme ...
My cam had been caught and distracted by the beautiful Roxy (ChrysTeRox) and her whirling dress ;-)

And as I want to save at least some pix from the cruel fate of getting lost in the growing pic chaos on my hd ... or even worse ... being deleted ;-)

YaY ... in the name of science ...

Yep and Yippeeee ... I won today's photohunt in the name of Science ... honestly ... it was the pure scientific interest of an art historian ... ... ... ;-)

Today we were sent to  Mieville Wells, a steampunk-themed sim with all kind of shops ... and the theme was 'handcrafted with love' ... or something like that ...
 as Photohunt (the cute robot) said: The theme is about apprieciating hand-craftsmanship ...
... and I just had a close look at what to appreciate ;-)

PhotoHunting for Manic Monday

I love monday evenings, cause at 11:30am  (SLT) starts the weekly PhotoHunt ...
and today we were sent to Torley's sim ... chasing 'Manic Monday' ... ;-)
I like the feel of the sim ... the music streamed there added well to it and I guess I will return there to play around a bit more ...
and as usual, I couldn't decide which of the 32 pix I shot would be best to submit.
And as I like to keep my pix somewhere, but plan to clean my PC soon ... I put my favs here, starting with my actual submission.

I like my pix to be rather graphic than showing objects or persons, but when my cam caught Aelva, I couldn't resist 'shooting' her.

PhotoHunt Halloween Time

I try to do the Photohunt every Monday (and only missed it twice) since I  a while now ...

It's always fun and an interesting way to see new places and get to know the SL cam, windlight, DoF and such ... and sometime unfortunately the limits of my pc too ... lol

Usually we get a theme and a landmark to a sim full of interesting spots ...  

Today was a bit different, for we were asked to come dressed up in a costume of our choice and got a tp into a huge room above the photohunt gallery, that was devided into a few colours (like black, white, red, green etc), some poseballs spread everywhere ...

and the theme was "It's all in the details" and the definition of "detail" was that there was less than 1/3 of an ava in the shot ... (not neccessarily your own ava)

With 27 participants it was a record crowd for Monday ...

and YaY ... I shared the third place with Roxy ;-)))

But I have to admit that I owe it mostly to AlexandraForestier, who had chosen such a cool ava for the event ;-)

... even beside Alexandra's ava I look OLD ... lol ...

And as usual there were lots of cool entries and I'm glad that we didn't have to choose only one to vote for ;-)

PhotoHuntChallenge - Straight

yep ... looks like this could become a new addiction ;-)

I've been to the PhotoHunt again ... 

And besides the fun of taking pics ... I it's a great way for a lazy butt like me to visit great places.

This time the location was Memento Mori on chouchou ... and it had the WOW-Effect on me !!!

And the theme was 'Straight' ... perfect for the location ...

This time I put on my totally transparent avi ... to not stand in the way of anyone else, nor myself ... makes taking pics a bit easier ;-)

The toughest part of the hunt was deciding which pic to upload on the board, cause it's got to be 1 pic only ...

After quite a long discussion with my son (who had to give up his internet connection again), I decided for this one

but I had several more in the queue, for example these:

funny enough, some of the co challengers had the same views ... 

so in the end I was quite happy with my choice

there were well deserved winners in the end ... and I already marked next

My first PhotoHunt Challenge ;-)

YaY ... what cool stuff you can discover by reading blogs ;-)

I first saw it on Carrie Lexington's blog ... and later on  Renoobed's ...

and it looked interesting ... so I tried it too ...

The PhotoHunt Challenge ... 

Starting every Monday 11.30am (SLT) and Wednesday 6.00pm (SLT)

at the PhotoHunt Gallery

A nice little group had gathered at the gallery ... we got a Landmark and a theme ... and exactly 1 hour time ... to shoot pics and and upload our fav one ... without any additional editing

The theme was 'Tranquility' and the LM lead us to Worlds End Garden, a beautiful little spot with strange geometrical stuff ...

that made me log off imediately, kick my poor son off his internet-connection so I would have more bandwidth ... and then log back in ... and aaahhhh and ooohhhh ... finally things rezzed for me ;-)

As I had already lost quite some precious minutes ... I didn't hesitate much ... tried 3 views ... decided for the 4th ... and spend the rest of the hour playing with windlight, shaders, shadows and DoF ... and in what felt like no time at all ... the hour was gone and my hd filled with pics I couldn't decide which to upload ... I actually wasn't very happy with any of them ... 

So I asked my poor son again, who was already waiting impatiently to get back to his gaming with a friend, for super fast help ... luckily we agreed on the same pic ... and ... voila ... my first entry to the PhotoHunt Challenge ;-)

when I looked at the other entries, I knew I didn't have much of a chance ... but I was there for the fun of it ... and I sure got that ;-)

I might not be able to take part every Monday ... but I sure will try as often as I can. ... and reserve bandwidth in time ... hehe ;-)
