odd ...

... I now and then try out viewer 2 to see if I can get used to it ... because I like the alpha layer and the tattoo layer ...
and I some times check my ARC ... for no special reason other but curiosity ...
and now I wondered why there's such a difference between the value in the old viewer and in viewer 2 ... even when I wear exactly the same ...
(I checked that the setting of shaders doesn't matter)
left: the old viewer ... right: viewer 2
odd ... isn't it?

what's odd too ?

I caught Temp watching FOOTBALL ... *grins*

[2010/06/27 7:30] Mayala Loon: Hi Temp ;-) ... is the wed 2pm still open?
watch this long time till an answer ... ;-P
[2010/06/27 8:01] Tempest Levenque: wait
[2010/06/27 8:01] Tempest Levenque: your german
[2010/06/27 8:01] Tempest Levenque: It is yes, sorry I was afk having heart attackes over the football
[2010/06/27 8:01] Tempest Levenque: arghhhh!

phew ... I was glad to see that Temp was still alive when she sent out the new schedule later ...
after all England lost 1:4
not sure if I should be happy about that ... cause it meant all evening long I heard the most terrible party music from some neighbours ... worse tunes than any DJ would ever dare to play for torture ... ;-P

Ready To Run ...

... well ... that's not exactly true ...
but I'll try to be tomorrow ... cause it's firm run time again ...
I still have to figure out which shirt to wear ...
the slightly too small shirt of the office I work for ...
or the slightly too big official shirt ...
and sorry ... my feet wanted to be on that pic ... cause they say the have to do the tough part ;-P

and although those lil bastards put 300m extra on top of the 5km ...
and despite the extra kilos I gained since last year ...
and tho it's announced to be a hot day tomorrow ...
and even tho it's a long working day before the run ...
I hope I will run the 5,3km in less than 40 min (slow enough) ...
and will not be the last of the more than 11.000 ppl to cross the finish line ;-P

so ... wish me luck ... or better easy legs and enough breath ...
cya saturday morning if I survive friday evening (18.50 start time btw.)

Colors of Early Summer

As I could finish work a lil earlier today, I took the chance a did a lil bicycle trip together with my daughter in the late afternoon ...
2 1/2 hours riding along the fields ... watching the wonderful colours ... and enjoying the mild breeze ...
and I took oh so many pics ... I had two compact cams with me ... my old olympus and hubby's newer sony ...
so the pics look a bit different in colors ...
and I wish I had a reflex cam ... it's definately on my whish list ...
as I prolly won't use my old analog one anymore ... it's even getting hard to buy film ... lol

Anyway ... here's a small selection of the pix ... enjoy

BBBC 2010 - 6

If this is your first BBBC... What did you get out of your experience? Do you think it will change the way you blog in the future?

erm ... one of those questions today .. arf ...

kk ... let me try ...

what I got was ... less sleep
cause I'm a slow blogger ... takes ages till I got thoughts and words sorted out ...
that's why I don't blog daily ... ;-P
cause I found so many new blogs to read ...
so, what I got out of my experience (to answer more precisely to that question) is ... erm ... I need a secretary ... preferably a male and smexy one ;-P

c'mon, Yarghy, show a bit more enthusiasm being my secretary !!!

So ... will it change the way I blog in the future?
rather not ... I still won't blog daily ... and it will still be a mix of crude thoughts and pix ... some music and clips now and then ...
but it will change my mornings ... as I have more blogs to follow now ... and I love reading in the morning ...;-)))

and now Yarghy, could you please move up your skirt a bit ... and maybe loosen your shirt ... it's getting hot in here ... *grins*

oh ... and I'll be hopefully in next year's BBBC too ;-)))))

BBBC 2010 - 5 ... Living in a Box

Blogger's choice! Write about anything that's on your mind!

Anything that's on my mind? ...
erm ... there's just empty space ... *grins*

nah ... usually it's so croweded that hardly anything can escape to the outer world ...

kk ... I would like to tell you about one of my fav
stories from one of my fav writers (It's been on my mind for long and I always wanted to post about it anyway)
So there's this book 'The Star Diaries' by Stanisław Lem, a Polish writer of science fiction, philosophy and satire (1921-2006) ... and it's the first story from the memories of Ijon Tichy ...
I'm not good in telling stories, you better read it yourself ... but I'll try to give a brief summary ...
So in this short story Ijon Tichy is invited to visit the laboratory of professor Corcoran, a rather strange or kinda mad scientist, an arrogant hermit ...
He is lead into an huge old dark factory room, almost empty except for shelves with about a dozen boxes ... and a tiny humming ...
and in those boxes are the most perfected electronic brains ... materialized Leibniz Monads ...
connected to a big slowly rotating drum in the back of thre room ...
this machine is their fate, their world ... it's all they are, they experience, they recognize ...
In the machine are special bands ... containing electric impulses, matching the billions of impressions a being can experience in it's life ...
The whole world in this machine ...

The fate of those boxes is not preordained until the end ... they can influence their fate to a certain degree ... and there's chance ...
They don't know that they are boxes ... they simply live their lives ...
there even is a scientist who explores his world ... but to really understand what his world is, he would have to leave his box and see it from the outside ... which of course is impossible ...
and then there is one box which is a Loonatic ... the one who thinks that he is just a box ... and who will be put into an asylum for such thoughts ... and who thinks that there is a god ... a creator who knows that he shouldn't interfere with his creations ... and that maybe the creator himself is nothing but a box in an even bigger laboratory ....

There's a lot more in that story, but as I said ... read it yourself, best way to catch the spirit ...

Now these boxes always fascinated me ... especially as I always wondered since I was a kid ... whether we are nothing but a dream ... whether what I see and experience is 'real' ...
and Mayala me is a bit of a mix of such a boxed entity combined with her creator ... or just another dream within a dream ... boxed in a box ...

BBBC 2010 - 4

SL Bloggers - Is your avatar more or less your current biological age? Do you portray a younger avatar, or older? Why is this?

RL Bloggers - Do you lie about your age? Do you think you act your age? Are you where you thought you'd be at your current age?

Short answers
SL : no .. younger (I guess)
RL : no ... not really ... don't know

this is a mix of RL and SL me .. see, not that big difference ... *grins*

slightly longer answers
SL : - Nope, my avatar doesn't represent my current biological age, never did and prolly never will.
When Mayala hopped into existence she was mostly formed like the real me in size (at least I thought so ) and proportions ... and I tried my best to make her look aqt least a bit like me, but I didn't think of giving her any age.
- She looks a lot younger tho due to the skin I found for her ... and as I won't change her skin, she will stay that age ...
I could add the weight that I'm slowly gaining ... but that would mean I had to adjust her clothes ... and hell no ... I'm far too lazy for that ;-P
I don't care about the age an avatar portrays ... nor am I really interested in the RL age of the avatars I meet ...

which leads me to the RL part of this topic ...
RL : - Nope ... I never lied about my age ... at least not on purpose (I once accidently made me older ... *grins*)
But I admit that I'm not very fond about telling my age (mid forty, if you wanna know), although ppl usually think that I'm younger ... or maybe they are just polite ;-P
- Guess I rather don't act like my age ... at least not compared to neighbours and other ppl I know of that age ... maybe I've never really grown up ... and actually don't want to ... whatever that means ...
But don't get me wrong ... I don't wanna be a kid or a teen again ... guess I'd prefer to stay ageless ... lol
- I never planned much into the future ... I'm quite happy where I am now ... tho always open for changes too ...

No matter if SL or RL ... I'm always me ... and age not really is of any importance ...

BBBC 2010 - 3

SL Bloggers - How hard do you think it is to find a relationship in SL? If you have an SL relationship, have you met in the physical world? Would you meet them? Do you think it would change your SL relationship if you met?

o.o ... guess I'm the wrong person to talk about SL relationships ...
I felt very close to a few ppl ... I lost some of them for different reasons ... and one became a close online friend outside of SL ...
but I never wanted to partner ... and as I'm happily married in RL ... and know that my hubby wouldn't be happy about me having a relationship with another guy in SL ... I simply stay single ;-P

Finding just anyone for a relationship wouldn't be too hard, I think ... but finding the right one will be as hard as in RL ;-))

I only met 2 person from SL in RL (not an relationship, just a friend) and I had the same nice talks with this couple in RL as in SL ... and I'd like to meet more of my friends ...
and it definately changes something ... so I'm pretty sure it would change a lot more in a relationship ... not sure in which direction tho ;-P ...

arf ... I suck at writing ... lol ... today I feel like back at school having to write an essay and knowing I'll fail as usual ... lol ... so I better stop

omg ... an old pic of french LoonAtic and me at one of my fav places ... ages ago ...
kk ... I admit ... sometimes I miss lying in the arms of someone or slowdancing while having a nice conversation ;-P

BBBC 2010 - 1 & 2

... I decided to participate the 'Big Bad Blogger 2010' started by Alicia Chenaux ... first time I try to do a challange officially ;-P ...
and as usual ... can't do anything right ;-P ... as I had already posted yesterday, before I discovered the challenge ... I decided to use topic 1 and 2 in one post
... at least I try to ... ;-)

Topic 1:
Why did you become a blogger? How has it enriched your life?

well ... think I already wrote about it once, so I make it short ...
When I had just started my 2nd Life I discovered blogs that helped newbies like me to be creative, giving tips about building and designing ...
Later I started this blog to advertise my shop, but soon it rather became a kind of scrapbook or diary for me... mostly about SL, but RL sneaks in as well ...
I'm no writer, nor a big talker ... only half of what I plan to post gets actually posted in the end ...

... anyway ... this blog simply serves as a device for keeping memories and sharing my mood ... and to prevent that I become a total loony ... *grins* ...

Topic 2:
SL Bloggers - Write about three positive things going on in your Second Life. RL Bloggers - Write about three positive things going on in your life.

kk ... as I'm blooging about SL and RL ... I mix it now too ...

SL-1. I'm having a lot of fun hosting at Sanctuary Rock ... more than usual ... maybe because the kickass music by my DJs or the cool folks ... I'm always looking forward to my weekend mornings ;-)))

SL-2. I discovered the autopilot function, while kicking balls with Tymmerie and some others yesterday ... me, who still bumps into walls when trying to go thru a door, after more than 3 years of SL ... so hopefully my walking like a drunkard has an end now ;-P

SL-3. I'm working on a new LoonAticWear mainstore ... woooohooo ... it's far from being finished, still a lot of texturing and building to do ... but it's FUN ;-)))

RL-1. Tho I'm no fan of overtime working ... it's better than having no work at all ... and I hope it will be back to normal after summer ...

RL-2. I'm back to running ... *grins* ... in about 1 1/2 week I'll join about 10.000 ppl in the 5km firm-run ... ;-))))

RL-3. My all time best positive in RL ... my family ... couldn't live without them ;-))))

Nomen est Omen ?!?

... at least this guy Dick Ix... (I refuse to call him a guest or a patron, cause that would insult our real patrons) proved today that he chose the right name for him ... and he was very close to be the first I'd ever asked to be banned ... lucky him he tp-ed out in time ...I can't stand when someone is talking bullshit about a 1st class DJ like Austin ... and trying to ruin everyone's fun ...
if you don't like the music somewhere , you better leave ... no need to show you are what you are named after ...

anyway ... besides that I had 3 really fantastic events this weekend ...
>> with Mirari sneaking into te stream while I was still searching for a DJ ... ;-P
>> Twilight daring to show up with the pants he had stolen from me ... but I got'em back ... *grins*
>> Cats keeping everyone happy and being the fastest greeter ever ;-)))
>> DJ Merrick making me almost dropping off my chair ... don't remember when I laughed so much during a shift ;-))) (and I laughed a lot lately)
>> DJ Austin ROCKING everyone (except Dick ... lol) ... and wow ... I so love his deep voice, his giggeling ... and his crazy facts ... got no idea where he collects that stuff from ... ;-P
>> and the fun crowd at Sanct ... who make it worth returning every weekend ...
/me hugs 'em all (except Dick ... *sniggerz*)

so here are some pics ... and you know what to do ... CLICK on them to ENLARGE

OZY OZY OZY

... just to make sure ... this is about Ozymandias ... not Ozimals bunnies (yurgh, can't stand them) ...
It was a great uber long weekend I had ... 2 fun shifts at Sanct and even time to hang on during Austin's show ... and although chat was way to fast for me this time I was glad nobody could see me wiggling, headbanging and grinning on my chair ...

and you already know:

And besides a lot of construction work (SL and RL) ... I found even time to read a bit :-))))
oh ... and Tychosis made me read a poem ... a beautiful one ...
'Ozymandias' by Percy Bysshe Shelly ... (I wonder why I thought Percy was a woman ... lol)
Ty Tych ;-)) ... /me hugs the angry golem ;-*
and it made me look for Ozymandias on you tube ... found some quite interesting stuff ...
added 2 links from my french LoonAtic ... a bit Paradise Lost ... and a bit of 'Statler & Waldorf ' ... to not become too serious ... *grins*
Take your time and enjoy

now this is very special ... lol

Without further ado ...

Here are some of my May-Pix ...
don't know how Chromo and Knoppy sneaked into so many of them ... lol
and damn ... some pics I was sure I had taken I couldn't find anymore ... arf ...
anyway ... Enjoy ;-))

I've been quite busy with someting else despite my RL overtime working ...
but I think I'll wait with pics from that until it's a bit closer to being finished ;-P ... if ever ... lol

damn ... that's an awesome song anyway ... and I really like this piano version ;-))))
