erm ... well ... actually not much to say about this ...

It didn't turn out as it was imagined in my head (as usual), but I had fun drawing and editing it anyway (as usual) .... ;-)

Single Frame Stories - Depth Perception

depth perception can be very physical ... and quite flat, when you swap 'p' for 'a' ....... ;-)

This week's pic for the Single Frame Stories Challenge was a lot of fun to do ... even tho it took me so much longer than I expected ...

And maybe I wouldn't even have finished it, if there hadn't been the help and the critics of my french LoonAtic Dom. 

Btw ... I love the feature in msn taht let's you look at a pic together, makes it easier to discuss the different versions ... and what a way to spend a late evening/night (instead of sleeping, I mean ... *grins*)

Here are a few of the many versions the pic went thru often with only minor changes like darkening, shadows, a lil scaling etc ...

incl a funny error that I only noticed after drag & drop into the msn window ... it made my skeleton friend kinda stand outside the pic pointing into it ;-)

and here are some of the many layers/parts of the final pic, including a scan of the original pencil drawing

Single Frame Stories - Positive

Oh Bugger ... 2 posts in 1 day ... 

but that's one reason I love weekends ... plenty of time to do what I like ;-)

And today I was in the mood to try something I had seen on Goro Fujita's blog once and wanted to try it myself since then ...

... Light Painting ...

Now I'm not an expert and artist like Goro ... but I had a lot of fun in my darkened room ... waving with a little torch ... and trying to 'paint' my idea for this week's Single Frame Stories prompt

POSITIVE

'Be Positive' ... for my dear jaded friend ... I know it's easier said then done ... and I wish I knew how to help ... how to make my optimism contagious ... I'll keep on wrecking your nerves by telling it to you ;-)

I'm kinda trying to chase away the dark demons of depression by some positve lights ... looks like I cannot fully succeed ... but I'll keep waving my lil torch ....

For the final pic I chose is a collage of 2 of my light paintings ... edited in Gimp

Looks like a nice winter hobby ... when it's easier to  darken the room ... still a lot to be learned and I guess a litlle directing help would be fine too ... lol

so you will prolly get tortured with more pics like this one day ;-)

Single Frame Stories - Illumination - #2

kk ... this Single Frame Stories Challenge is causing quite a fuzz in my head ... 

pic after pic crosses my inner eye and want's to be released ... *grins*

So you get my second entry for the Challenge ...

no bony guy this time ;-) ... no SL-pic

Instead I grabbed a very soft pencil and tried to get the pic from my mind onto a blank postcard sized bit of paper ...

And while doing so, lots of stories came to my mind ... what happened before the pic ... what will be next ...

I might make a movie clip about it sooner or later ;-)

For now I had lots of fun drawing ;-)

The darkness of the original idea didn't come out as intended, but thnx to some very helpful tips from myfrench LoonAtic Dom (he really got an eye for such things)= some darkening/ shadows and such in Gimp, I'm quite happy with it ;-)

And from what I've seen so far ... this weeks entries (for 'illumination') are really impressing ... 

so ... check out the Single Frame Stories Gallery which will be published on Saturday ...

and I can hardly wait for the next prompt ;-)

My very own 3rd Life ...

There are those days when RL and/or SL just suck ...
I had them again over the last weeks ...
and I often wished to leave... to where-ever
... a 3rd life would come in handy ... ;-P
and guess what ...
I got one ...
I just realised that ... and I got it almost since I got a 1st Life (does it make that the real 2nd Life then?) ...
I got the client always with me ... no need to make an account ... no passwords ... no TOS or rules ... no sliders, radars, lists, tags, nc, spam, griefers ... it works unplugged and without the web ... lol

It's those precious moments when thoughts start to wander without control ...
the creative blinks ... time of ideas and hopes ... somewhere between wake and sleep ... duty and spare time ... sense and nonsense ...
sometimes seconds ... minutes ... even hours ...

Too bad that the interface to my other lifes is quite poorly developed ...
maybe I should start bug-fixing this interface ...
like beginning with this pic ... scribbled when my bad mood made me go into my 3rd Life for some relief ... and waiting to be turned into a better drawing ...
a chance to find my way back to my RL-drawing skills ... long neglected ...





















I just love DAY-DREAMING ...
maybe because it's one of the few things I'm pretty good at ... ;-P
